BAC_OMC-FINALNew York City, New York – March 30, 2014 – Sometimes it’s not what you know, but who you know.  And with the entertainment industry, that saying can definitely prove true, as indicated by the glowing success of the Broadway Artists Connection and their social events. The next highlight of BAC’s upcoming event series will take place on April 6th, 2014 7-9pm at the Nuyorican Poet’s Café (236 E. 3rd St, New York, NY 10009), and provides an amazing opportunity to connect and stay connected within the industry. Hosted by 7 time Broadway Vet, Drama Desk Nominee and TV actor John Bolton, accompanied by the great Brad Ross, will give attendees the chance to mingle with most notable musical theater artists and insiders, including two-time Tony Nominee Reg E. Gaines, Jessica McRoberts, Happy McPartlin, Joan Barber and Matt Dotzman, among many others.
“Talent, drive and determination alone aren’t enough to propel you toward success in the entertainment industry,” says Tamlyn Brooke Orlando, Founder of the Broadway Artists Connection.  “Through the Broadway Artists Connection unique social events, we bring together Broadway Artists and enthusiasts to create, connect and share their talents for the greater good of our communities. We’re also providing a highly coveted chance to meet personally with prestigious industry notables.”
Since launching the Broadway Artists Connection in January 2008, the organization was joined by over 150 qualified Broadway members and hundreds of supporters and friends.
“The networking impact is huge. Working artists float in and out of very tight communities as they hop from show to show, however, these communities are short lived. And aspiring artists work for years to land a conversation with insiders”, says Orlando. “BAC brings everyone together, nurtures their creativity and as a result, dozens of artists establish new relationships that have led them to jobs, gigs and performance opportunities.”
As the momentum behind BAC’s social events continues to grow, so too does the organization itself.
This collaboration has created an engaging, supportive environment for Broadway Artists and those who love Broadway to co-mingle, build relationships, assist and grow their various theatrical/artistic goals, all while sharing their talents for the communities.
The buzz is spreading quickly and the network continues to thrive.

The evening, held the night after the illustrious Tony Awards, started off rainy and dreary outside, but sizzled inside with remarkable talent and an enthusiastic audience that remained captivated from beginning to end.Christina DeCiccio commenced the event with a rousing rendition of I Want to Go to Hollywood. The perfect choice as host; her engaging personality, witting anecdotes and winning smile effortlessly glided us through an array of performances from current and former Broadway performers. The very talented artists included Randy Donaldson, Jennifer Sanchez, Melissa Giattino & Richard Schwartz, Mimi Bessette, Adam Roberts, Amy Dolan Fletcher, D’Vorah Bailey, Jessica McRoberts, Jessica Kostival, Wendy Rosoff and even a surprise performance from Tamlyn Brooke Orlando, founder of BAC. Musical direction was provided by the one and only Michael Lavine, and every performance was met with ebullient anticipation and rousing cheers!
“I really enjoyed the evening tremendously,” John Kanazawa, JD/LLM, Intellectual Property and Entertainment Attorney, exclaimed. “What a fantastic opportunity to mingle with the Broadway community. I can’t wait for future events.” This BAC event was the first of many; every event will donate proceeds to a charitable organization or non-profit. The launch event’s proceeds benefitted Rosie’s Theater Kids, a non-profit that exposes underprivileged children to the arts and immeasurable opportunities through artistic exposure. Although the students could not perform live at the launch event, the Artistic Director of Drama, Jeff Statile, treated the guests to a video performance produced by BD Wong & featuring hundreds of Rosie’s Theater Kids!
“It feels great, knowing that what we do benefits larger causes,” attendees unanimously agreed. This event would not have been possible without the generous support of
Randy Davis & Phoenix Steiner of AppliedArts.us, Daniel Gallant, BAC advisor and Executive Director of Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe, Will Maitland Weiss, BAC advisor and Event Director, and Marnie Ann Joyce, Event Manager.
Sponsors of this successful affair were Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe, Thuzio, MLManagement.biz, Hint Water, Saranac, Good Beer, Actors’ Equity Association, Corona Extra, Cake Shop NYC, and Saranac. A big thank you to all for their hard work in creating a memorable and rewarding occasion.
