DoreenheadshotThe March 1st Broadway Artists & Friends Open Mic and Mingle will be hosted by Broadway’s Drama Desk Award Winner and Recording Artist Doreen Montalvo. Doreen is currently performing on Broadway in the cast of ON YOUR FEET.  She was also seen on Broadway in the original cast of the Tony Award Winning Broadway show IN THE HEIGHTS.

The evening will be kicked off by several Broadway Artists including Brandi Massey (WICKED, CAROLINE OR CHANGE), Arbender Robinson (LES MISERABLES, BEAUTIFUL, HAIR, BOOK OF MORMON, & more), John Edwards (JERSEY BOYS), Kristen Beth Williams (PIPPIN, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, ANYTHING GOES, PROMISES, PROMISES), Richard E Waits (DREAMGIRLS) with Brad Ross on the keys.  The mic then opens to our “up and comers.”  A winner will be crowned “future of Broadway” by Erin Denman, NYC Casting Associate from Wojcik-Seay Casting!  Come sing, mingle, make connections & get inspired.  A night not to miss!  Reservations are required to sing.  Email joseph@broadwayconnects.org.

Broadway Artists perform & auction one of a kind items to benefit Creative Arts Team – CAT Youth Theatre.  CAT is a FREE program that helps young people to thrive – on stage and in life. Members create socially relevant original plays while learning vital life skills such as self expression, educational discipline, social consciousness, leadership and responsibility to self and others.  This award winning nonprofit is changing lives through the power of drama.  Proceeds from the event & auction will go directly to CAT.

The Benefit event will feature entertainment by a dozen Broadway Veterans as well as the CAT Youth Theatre.  Hosted by Broadway Veteran Collin Cunliff (PIPPIN, EVITA, ADDAMS FAMILY, CRY-BABY) and joined by Hettie Barnhil (LEAP OF FAITH, SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK, FELA!), Christina DeCicco (EVITA, SISTER ACT, SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK), Reg E. Directed by Broadway’s Jessica McRoberts (SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK, FOLLIES, NINE) and Musical Direction by Michael Lavine.

Hosted at Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe (236 E 3rd St) seating only one hundred audience members, patrons will be able to mingle with artists, have a close up view of their best works & be treated to a performance by the CAT Youth Theatre.

  • Radio City Christmas Spectacular tickets (4) with a backstage tour led by Rockette Heather Langham & signed item.  Sunday, Nov. 16th 4pm show.
  • Big Apple Circus VIP tickets (4) during its Lincoln Center run, through January 11th, 2015.  Includes VIP lounge refreshments before and during intermission + (select dates only) opportunity for dessert with artists in the ring.
  • Gansvoort Hotel Park Avenue 2 night stay and bottle of wine on the roof
  • Jersey Boys signed item and backstage tour (tickets not included)

Kristen Beth Williams has been seen stepping into principle roles on Broadway and has a voice to knock your socks off.  Currently in the cast of PIPPIN, Kristen has also graced Broadway in NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, ANYTHING GOES, PROMISES, PROMISES and made her break out starring role in London’s Olivier Award-winning musical TOP HAT.
